The LEGO Railway that I have been constructing since 1995 are 100m2 and I think it's complete in 3 years! From 1985 till 1995 I had a railway of 33m2 and the whole thing started in a corner of my room in 1973 with a 4,5v battery train!
Today's railway are 485m long ( 425m 12v + 60m 9v), 75 remote controlled switches + 20 manuel switches, 100 signals, 47 12v and 28 9v locomotives, 250 wagons, 3500m of cable, 800000 bricks and run by a computer.
